Large audience fills the tabernacle for evangelist Luther B. Bridgers sermon from Matthew. Virginia Woolen Company officers and Winchester fire department crews attend in force. The message centers on the crowd's declaration of His blood be on us and on our children.
Henry presents the Charles Dillingham musical comedy Stop Look and Listen at the Empire Theatre. The production features about fifty people, a gorgeously costumed chorus, and comes from the Globe Theatre in New York where it has played for a year.
Charles Evans Hughes announced he will reside in a full seven-room luxury apartment at 30 East 64th Street. The 14 room four bath unit reportedly rents for seven thousand dollars annually, signaling Hughes is back in New York social life.
John D. Archbold, a Standard Oil president and Rockefeller associate, died at his Tarrytown home at 4 a.m. after an appendicitis operation on November 23. He was 63. Otto Mosger, the family chauffeur, donated blood a week earlier to aid his recovery.
At the Baltimore wholesale markets this afternoon, spot wheat stood at 1 dollar 73 and a quarter, while corn traded at 99 cents. The report notes steady prices for both grains with no immediate price shifts expected.

The wholesale price of eggs fell in the Winchester market from 39 to 37 cents as a boycott spreads across larger cities and dawns on the nation. A local buyer predicted further declines this week with Virginia eggs closing at 41 cents and selling at 43 cents in Washington and 40 cents in Baltimore.
Four men were charged with bringing into the state more than the legal monthly quota of liquor. Six men hired a car to Williamsport Maryland and returned with nine quarts. Police trailed them all night. two escaped. Frank Dorman Percy Brown Bud Willis and Fred Hawse jailed. Nedith and Ash by Malone being hunted.

In Martinsburg at Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church South the marriage of Miss Carrie May Prince of Ridgeway and Earl W Smallwood of Ridgeway was performed by Rev. Dr. Henry P. Hamill. The bride is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Prince. The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. I. S. Smallwood, is a carpenter. They will reside in Ridgeway.
Mr. George W. Grim a Winchester carpenter and Turner Ashby Camp color bearer recently received a carved cane from his son Orderly Sergeant George Grim of Company I Second Virginia Regiment stationed at Brownsville Texas. The Mexico made cane features cannons guns shells and painted flags and has drawn much admiration from Grim's friends.
Mr R Gray Williams returned from Roanoke Virginia where he delivered the memorial services address for the Roanoke lodge of Elks. The ceremonies at the Roanoke theater drew about 1500 attendees and the local press praised his speech highly.
Two men Clifton Lofton and George Hoover, who offered to enlist at Winchester, have been accepted and assigned to Company I, Second Virginia Regiment now in Brownsville Texas. Lofton, previously rejected at Richmond for physical disability, has since improved and was passed recently. Bids are invited to quarry 500 gas stone by J. W. Bowles or Sept. of County Reds.
Winchester announces that distribution of Red Cross Christmas seals for the year will be handled by Miss Strickler district nurse. Merchants teachers students and Boy Scouts may obtain seals at her office on the first floor of the Farmers and Sorted National Bank building during office hours from 9 until 5. The first death from infantile paralysis in Page County occurred at Shenandoah, 18 miles south of Luray. The child was the 4 year old daughter of J R McDonald. She had apparently not been exposed to infection, and Shenandoah health authorities are taking measures to prevent spread.
London reported a deadly uprising in Antwerp on November 30 with between 200 and 300 Belgians killed and many German soldiers killed amid deportation tensions. The dispatch cites Amsterdam sources and two Belgian refugees who arrived at Sluis for confirmation.

More than a score of patrons were poisoned at the Arcade restaurant on Manhattan avenue Brooklyn. Police and physicians used stomach pumps to save some lives while several were hospitalized in serious condition. The restaurant was closed and food investigations ordered. Patrolman Travers saw two men near the consternation and Morris Oppenheim the manager reported patrons fell ill after drinking coffee.
Yesterday a hog attacked and killed a horse owned by Mrs. Sarah Mason near Broadway Virginia. The animal bit deeply and tore the horse to pieces before bystanders could intervene. The family, fearful of the hog, also lost their driving horse.
The Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church South at Summit Point West Virginia will formally dedicate its new house of worship on Sunday December 10. Dedicatory services begin at 11 a m and the sermon will be preached by Rev Dr Neighbors of Cleveland Tennessee The building committee invites all former pastors and friends to attend.
John B. Henderson Jr., once married in Charlestown to Angelica Crosby, sued for breach of promise. Elizabeth Garmony of Bangor claimed a $260,000 bargain, Bangor court awarded $116,000, and the Maine Supreme Court reversed that decision, in a case with long widowhood and prior romantic ties.

Judge Thomas W. Harrison of Wine and Can al district Virginia was sworn in yesterday afternoon as representative in the 5th district. He was seated after the House opened and Speaker Clark called the roll with 369 present. Representative Flood of Virginia introduced Harrison to the House.
A public address by Dr McIluire is planned in Luray with many medical topics on the agenda. Speakers include Dr Lloyd from Catawba and Lum on Tuberculosis and D A Brumfield presenting on Rural Sanitation. Dr Hunter H McGuire will speak on The Conservation of the Vision.
Dynamite storage at Blairton Lime and Stone Works broken into by seven men who took 100 pounds of dynamite and 40 Ocapa. Local officers hold several suspects and arrests are expected within a day or two.
Kathleen Purcell, daughter of Edward and Mrs Purcell, formerly of Harrisonburg now in Washington, is ill with rheumatism of the heart. Her condition was serious but was reported somewhat improved after relatives and friends learned of her health. The Purcell family has strong ties in Winchester and Frederick County.
A young son of Mr and Mrs Miller living at 424 Main Street was struck by a motor car while crossing near his home on Saturday. Dr C R Anderson provided medical attention. The car was in charge of Mr Isaac Ebert and several vehicles were nearby as the incident occurred. The event appeared unavoidable according to witnesses.
