Navy Stands Firm on Softer Future Schedules After Army Victory

In Philadelphia Navy accepted football's accolades for a 14 2 conquest of Army but kept to its plan to ease future schedules. Athletic director Capt Howard Caldwell said the win won’t alter the de-emphasis program and Navy has already cancelled the 1952 53 home and home with Ohio State. Coach Eddie Erdelatz blamed the heavy slate for some losses and argued two weeks of prep helped Navy beat Army for the first time in years.
