Winchester city council approved a 600 budget item for 1926 to hire Prof McInee of Revete Virginia to train a Citizens Band and link with Handley School programs. Justice Hoehling in the District of Columbia Supreme Court dismissed Gorham Hubbard’s suit to stop publication of a tax payer’s name address and tax payment. Commissioner Blair argued the law requires public disclosure of returns, and the court granted the motion to dismiss.
Dr. George T. Edwards, held on a coroner's warrant in connection with his wife's death, was moved from the hospital to the county jail at Bessemer. He remains wounded in the left hand, saying a shooter attacked him after the slaying. A small axe smeared with a red substance was found in the basement of the Edwards home.
Hickory Camp holds its regular meeting Friday December 5 at 8 pm. Election of officers planned along with a smoker event.
The Woman's Civic League holds its regular monthly meeting tomorrow at 4 p m at Handley Library.

William L. McDonald a Mosby veteran and Frederick County farmer died at 3 o clock after a stroke two weeks earlier at his East Piccadilly Street home. He was 78 born in Hampshire County West Virginia and served with Col Mosbys Confederate battalion. Funeral at Braddock Street Methodist Church South at 2 PM Saturday. Survived by wife Mollie Kelley and children J W McDonald Lena McDonald Mrs George Baker Mrs R F Duvall and Mrs Roy P Duvall.
A fire alarm sounded yesterday at 5:80 o clock, but no fire was found. Fire crews were summoned and stood by, yet the emergency proved unnecessary. Authorities urge residents to verify a situation before reporting a fire.

About six o’clock yesterday evening fire destroyed the brick home of Gordon G. Keith and most contents. No insurance due to policy lapse. Keith absent visiting in Middletown. Origin of blaze unknown. neighbors alerted firefighters, but little could be saved. Loss estimated at 20,000 on building and 5,000 on contents. rebuilding uncertain.
Junius P. Fishburn of Roanoke will speak on the Virginia Historic Highway at the American Historical Association convention in Richmond December 27 to 31. He joins T. J. Ingram Jr. on the local arrangements committee. About 400 members from the U S and abroad are expected. no tickets will be issued.
