Deer Kill Tops 1600 In Area of Northern Shenandoah Valley

Youth Killed Ten Hurt In Crashes On Rt 55 Weekend
A Strasburg area youth died and several others were injured in a one car crash on Rt 55 between Wardensville and Strasburg at 1 45 a m. Michael Lee Orndorff 19 died at the scene. Over the weekend six youths were treated after crashes in Winchester and surrounding towns. Julian Williams 68 in critical condition after being struck on N Cameron St. Ellis Adams 18 driver of the pickup involved in the Williams crash. Richard Lam 16 and Garland Himelright 18 hospitalized in Strasburg in serious and fair condition. Others treated and released from the same accident were Marshall Putnam 16 Robert Fisher 18 and Jerry Fisher 16 all of Strasburg. Funeral service for Orndorff set for 2 p m at Shiloh Church Clary. Burial Riverview Cemetery Strasburg. He was 19, son of Curtis and Mildred Orndorff. Surviving relatives listed. Orndorff worked at National Fruit Products in Winchester and belonged to Shiloh Church. Body at Stover Funeral Home Strasburg, moved to church before service. Vincent Tompkins 30 of Delaplane also hospitalized after accident.
