Former insurance man Don Reynolds testified before the Senate Rules Committee that a $25,000 payoff from a District of Columbia Stadium construction contract flowed into the Kennedy Johnson campaign fund. Districting orders prompt quick legislative action
Districting represented and directed the Assembly to enact valid redistrictings by December. The court ruled that senators and delegates must be elected before the 1966 regular session, cutting in half the senate terms that would have run to 1968. The state appeals the order as lawmakers consider a Senate measure to trigger a special two-year term election if the Supreme Court decision is unfavorable.
