Walter Switzer 50 a pioneer telephone man in Shenandoah Valley dies at his Harrisonburg home from apoplexy on Wednesday night. Funeral services will be held this afternoon with fraternal orders in Harrisonburg attending. He is survived by a widow, daughter Miss Margaret Switzer, three sons Frank Richmond Fred and Homer, a brother J R Switzer deputy county clerk and a sister Mrs N Wilson Davis all of Harrisonburg.

Five Die in Rooming House Fire on West 63rd Street
In New York a five story rooming house on West 63rd Street near Columbus Avenue burned early today killing three women and two men. One woman died leaping from an upper floor and another perished after being lowered by her husband with a rope. The December term of Frederick County Circuit Court opened with Judge Whit ing presiding. A special grand jury charged Floyd Fletcher with manufacturing liquor and others for possession of mash and equipment. Paper Mill Worker Narrowly Escapes Serious Injury

R A Alger of Hagerstown Maryland faces manslaughter charges after an automobile struck Irvin G Penn three miles north of Winchester. Penn died later at Memorial Hospital.
