Steel Bridge Across Hogue Creek Opens on Route 522
A new bridge over Hogue creek on Route 522 north of Winchester opens as part of highway modernization. Moore Brothers of Staunton began Feb 26 and finished weeks ahead of schedule. The 172 foot concrete span replaces a narrow six ton bridge and carries 24 foot wide roadways. The project cost 67000 dollars and includes half mile of approaches serving heavy truck traffic between Pittsburgh and Bristol via Winchester.
