A new Virginia law, effective June, alters the distribution of a deceased husband’s estate to favor the widow when there are no children. Mrs. Stamples, widow of Stamoles, may now inherit the full $18,000, previously split with a Greece-based brother. Stamoles died of typhoid fever and left no will or issue.
Aug 30 Final operations for the first extended tour of his campaign were made here by Joe Davis preparing to westward tomorrow. He will travel to Denver and into the West for about three weeks. How many addresses remains undetermined though advisers say he avoids an intensive early campaign. The Democratic nominee focuses on agricultural relief with tariff tax relief and honesty in sovereignty among topics.
The Empire will start its road show season with Bringing Up Father followed by several other entertainments. The premiere is slated for the week after next at the Empire theater.
Mr Campbell chief electrical engineer from Los Angeles is installing the new $16,000 Photo Player Organ at The Colonial Theatre. The installation will take ten days and the organ is expected to be in use soon. The Star reports progress on the project and its anticipated impact on performances.

North Carolina entries claimed two wins and Baltimore one, with Florence White and William Fox of Baltimore cutting several seconds in the 2 15 trotting heat, sharing purses around $300. Other participants included Goldabonne Lula Ky and Washington Lightfoot, and fields listed Forester C. H. Eyler Thurmont Ma. and Senator Symbol H. Jamies from South Carolina, with times spanning 2 20 to 2 24 and purses around $116 to $22.44 for various trots and pacings.
