Indians Open Football Season With September 30 Opener
Russell Potts of the Park Association suggests a softball series between Virginia Woolen and an All-Star city loop team at Rouss Park on Sundays around a baseball game. William and Mary Indians return to football, opening September 30 at Williamsburg against Fort Monroe, with a schedule including Hampden Sydney, Penn, Richmond Army Air Base, NC State, UNC, VMI, and Richmond U. An umpire reversed a playoff run in a New York State American Legion championship, and a late ninth inning confusion left the score 5 to 4 after protest.
