A red haired terrier named Sheila is credited with helping 12 year old George Waeth of Baltimore walk again after infantile paralysis. George and Dr Cassius Way of the American Veterinary Medical Association spoke at the association's 77th annual banquet about pets encouraging children to try. The dog was given to George two years earlier by Lyn Terhune of Baltimore after doctors urged stimulation of his will to walk.
