Deep Sea Amphipods Recovered Alive At 18700 Feet Depth
Scripps scientist Dr. A Aristides Yayanos recovered amphipod crustaceans from 18700 feet depth using a new high pressure trap. Four trap loads yielded living specimens, nine inches dive gear and plans to study oxygen use and growth in high pressure aquariums.
