Mrs. Florence P. Temple 45 former wife of Walter S. Gifford president of American Telephone and Telegraph died after falling from an eleventh floor West 57th Street hotel. She had divorced Gifford in Reno in 1929 and recently lived in a two room suite. Hotel manager George Olsen saw the body on a second story extension. In Pittsburg on August 24 women and children joined men on the picket lines at the Heppenstall Steel Company as union leaders fear a renewal of yesterday's riots.
