Break Camp In Morning For Infantry Unit Home
A message to The Star from Virginia Beach states that Headquarters Company third Battalion and Company I of Winchester will break camp early tomorrow morning with other units of the One Hundred Sixteenth Infantry and arrive here tomorrow night about 9 30 o clock on a special Baltimore and Ohio Railroad train. The soldiers expect a large crowd and the Citizens Band at the station, but no arrangements have been made yet for the band to greet them with martial tunes. Mrs Charles Thomas of McKeesport Pa has been visiting and leaves for lower Virginia.

The remains of John Murnan, longtime Baltimore and Ohio Railroad employee, were laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery after a 10 o'clock high mass at the Church of the Sacred Heart. Clergy from several nearby parishes conducted the services and pallbearers included railway workers. Murnan spent 52 years with B and O in the maintenance of way department. all his children and widow attended except John W. Murnan of Atlanta who was ill.

James F. Lewis longtime Winchester resident and cabinet maker died at Memorial Hospital from hardening of the arteries and blood poisoning at about 10 this morning aged 81. He leaves one brother Frederick H. Lewis and four sisters Mrs. Plor ence Snapp Mrs. John Singer Catherine and Laura Lewis all of various Virginia towns and New York. A devout Grace Lutheran Church member he was not married. Funeral arrangements likely to be announced tomorrow.
