In Alexandria Virginia two seven year old girls reported missing were located safe in a nearby vacant apartment after a distressing 48 hour search. Parents expressed relief as authorities confirmed their wellbeing and no injuries were found.
Senate investigators vote 5 to 3 to issue new subpoenas to National Republic Bethlehem and Armco after they refused to supply cost data. Subpoenas go to the companies and chief officers, returnable in 10 to 12 days. Democrats back the move. Republicans oppose.
Mrs. Arthur Rowe born in 1866 near Yates County New Hampshire and living near Gainesboro marks her 96th birthday. She moved with her husband from Georgia to Tennessee in 1981 and attends Market Street Methodist Church.
