Hampshire High Dedication Set Sunday
Dr. Paul A. Miller president of West Virginia University will address dedication ceremonies for Hampshire High in Frederick county West Virginia Sunday at 2 30 PM. The new senior high replaces Romney Capon Bridge High Schools which become junior highs under the 6 3 3 plan. Robert W Calvert is named principal in a modern glass and steel building costing over 727000 with 657 students enrolled for fall including 170 from Capon Bridge area.

Eagle Scout Thomas A. Louthan of Winchester was chosen chief of the Shenandoah Area Council Order of the Arrow Lodge at Camp Rock Enon last weekend. He is 16 and a junior at Handley High School, active as editor of the lodge newsletter and a 8 year Scout. 99 Scouts attended the Ordeal ceremonies with 54 new members, 41 Brotherhood sashes, and 4 Vigil members named.

Moose Lodge to Honor Sherman W Dick at Robing Ceremony
Winchester Lodge No 1283 of the Loyal Order of Moose will honor Sherman W Dick secretary at a robing ceremony with Women of the Moose assist. Pilgrim degree awarded at recent Moose convention marks the highest honor. Pilgrims from across the state attend. Dick has served 18 years with 12 as secretary and is a past governor. A 3 Star Secretary Award was recently named for his service. Newcome envisions invited attendance. buffet will follow.

JW Tops Cheerleaders at State Camp
James Wood High School cheerleaders won blue ribbons at the State Cheerleading Camp in Camp Farrar Virginia Beach as the top squad among 48. They earned one second place red ribbon and two first place blues in daily competitions and claimed first in the final event.
