Dedication of United Brethren Church Draws Citywide Guests
The United Brethren Church on North Rock Street was consecrated in a daylong ceremony led by Bishop William M. Bell of Harrisburg and Los Angeles. Three services attracted large crowds and featured a 24-voice choir, a pipe organ, and congratulatory addresses from local leaders and visiting clergymen. About $15,000 was raised for the church fund.

Four Die in Fiery Tenement Blaze in Elizabeth
Four people including a man a woman and two boys perished in a rapid tenement fire in Elizabeth New Jersey. Investigators deem the blaze incendiary in origin and say the fire began in a passageway between the house and adjacent building leaving victims burned beyond recognition.
