Millions of state and local government workers face the Nixon 90 day wage price rent freeze. The Cost of Living Council says government employees are subject to the freeze like private wages. Teachers police and firemen off picket lines must wait unless contracts began before August 15.
Frederick County schools must gauge effects of President Nixon 90 day wage and price freeze on teachers contracts and school fees. The board meets at 9 30 a m to review implications and plan how to inform staff, with additional actions at local and state levels planned as the national policy unfolds.
The staff of the Office of Emergency Preparedness monitors compliance with President Nixon's wage price freeze from Washington. Congress had been told it would take a disaster or nuclear threat to force OEP involvement in wage price matters.
