$1.05 Million Jury Award Overturned in VW Case
The 4th U. S. Circuit Court of Appeals reversed a $1.05 million damages verdict against Volkswagen of America in a 1973 I-95 crash involving John W. Wilson. The court ordered a new trial on liability and damages after ruling the district judge erred by entering default on liability. Wilson, an ICC attorney, was injured when his Volkswagen Beetle flipped near Fredericksburg.
