In Rabat Morocco Defense Minister Mohammed Oufkir killed himself hours after Moroccan air force pilots attacked the king’s plane and Rabat targets. King Hassan II survived an assassination bid as loyalists regained control. Oufkir had been a key regime figure and ally.
The Frederick County Farm Bureau urges a citizen’s committee to study the land-use tax passed by the Virginia General Assembly. The group says the tax uses real estate value by actual use to aid farmers and deter development, with local and individual options for adoption.
