An explosion near the home of Lewis McHardy a Sacco Vanzetti juror in East Milton Massachusetts damaged the two and a half story frame house. McHardy his wife and three adult children escaped with cuts and bruises as debris shattered windows a mile away. Police suspected a timed bomb and guards were posted at other jurors homes. Court arguments over Sacco Vanzetti decisions followed in Boston with heavy guards at the Suffolk County courthouse.
A girl in a colonial costume with a pocket flashlight will light the large Jefferson Memorial searchlight at Monticello in Charlottesville. The beam, 1.385 billion candlepower, will flood Monticello from the Monticello Hotel and reach Winchester 85 miles away, with a preliminary test already noted.
