Funeral rites for Grace Lippy after 40 foot plunge
In Westminster Maryland Grace Lip py will have funeral services after she was found dead from a 40 foot fall from her apartment window. Dr Clifford Taylor said John Hyde the man found in Miss Lippy s apartment with an axe wound in the head is somewhat improved. Deputy Sheriff Walter Shipley said Hyde claimed Lippy struck him with the axe then tried to hang herself and cut her throat before he disappeared.

Robber Sought After Hold Up At Mayflower Restaurant
Alarming reports statewide describe a gunpoint robbery at 6 20 am against Miss Catherine Forest at the Mayflower Restaurant 902 South Braddock Street. Baltimore August 15 Nathan L Smith chief engineer of the State Roads Commission said traffic should use the temporary Harpers Ferry bridge by the second week in September. Delays stem from legal details between the state Baltimore and Ohio Railroad and West Virginia. After settlements the bridge will be floored for vehicles with a signal system to keep cars off when trains use it. About 200 feet of approaches must be built. The old toll bridge washed out in March floods and no road bridge has existed since.
