First Death In Winchester Since 1960 After Weekend Crash

A seven year old Amos E. Whipp Jr died at Memorial Hospital after being struck by a car in the 400 block of South Loudoun Street. The weekend crash near Gore killed four teenagers from Wardensville and Rio, West Virginia, including Harold Good Jr, Othniel Richard Jr, Barbara Smith, and Joan Combs. The car left Rt 259, struck trees, and rolled off the road. safety belts were not in use for the front passengers.
