America May Adopt Uniform Time System Nationwide
A House Commerce subcommittee plans to advance a bill to overhaul the US time system, creating four standard zones plus a new Atlantic zone, establishing a single daylight period from late April to late October, and requiring federal agencies and carriers to use the new times. The proposal aims to end the current chaotic quilt of time zones and daylight saving practices.
