Four local telephone operators endure car trouble at state park
Four local telephone operators planned a lazy day at Caca pon State Park yesterday but spent most of it with a jack and lug wrench changing flat tires. A tire salesman from Ohio helped with one tire and a Richmond road contractor aided the second. They also managed beach time amid the mishaps.

UN General Assembly Special Session Called for August 21
Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjold called a special session of the United Nations General Assembly to meet August 21 over the French Tunisian dispute. An Aerovias Cuban twin-engine airliner carrying 53 people was hijacked en route from Havana to Isle of Pines. Gunfire killed the captain Luis Juarez Regato, a military guard Silvino Sanchez Almaguer, and one hijacker. Co-pilot Alberto Bayo crash-landed in a sugar cane field. four passengers wounded. The hijackers fled into the cane fields as militiamen surrounded the area.
