City Ver City Ver MUM ON KILLING Stayer In Jail Here Declares He Aimed Weapon At the Ground
A colored employee of M Grove Lime Co at Stephens City in this county was shot in the head by Dock Johnson, another colored man. The wound proved fatal at Beemerte Hospital after Johnson said the shooting was accidental and that the men were close friends. Johnson was arrested by Sheriff Pannett and jailed. Eyewitnesses corroborate his accidental account.

In Frederick Maryland an eighteen month old girl, Mary Ellen Hubbard, was attacked by a game rooster while picking up a chicken. She underwent surgery at City Hospital to remove a two inch spur that had penetrated the skull and entered brain tissue. Dr EE B Thomas performed the operation noting the spur passed through the skull suture line and into brain substance.

Mrs. Baetjer Dies in Baltimore Hospital
May Baker Baetjer, wife of Winchester financier and finance committee chairman J oeg Baetjer, died early this afternoon at the Woman's Hospital in Baltimore after weeks of illness. He had stayed in Baltimore since her transport last month, and the end came shortly after noon. Her body will be brought home to Fairmont avenue. funeral arrangements pending Mr Baetjer's return. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Daniel Sanan, a sister Mrs. Crawford, and Heaton Baker of Philo. She was active in Grace Lutheran Church and connected with missionary work in Tokyo through her son in law's church.

Lightning Strikes Bed Between Two Sisters in Pa Home
Evelyn Minnich aged two and Ruth Minnich aged seven were sleep in the same bed when a bolt of lightning struck between them. The bolster tore, a bed post broken, and both girls were burned yet escaped death. They are visiting relatives at Emigsville near York.
