Three Injured In Car Train Collision At Clearbrook Crossing
Mary Flowers of Siler Road and Fern Carter of 24 E North Ave were injured in a late night crash when Flowers’ car struck a boxcar at the Clearbrook junction on Route 11. Robert Keeler of Stephens City was treated for chest injuries and released. Engineer Joseph D Eberly of Chambersburg Pa operated the train.

Sentenced for Arson in Front Royal Fires
Roy Lee Sparks, 23, of Prospect Street, was sentenced in Warren County Circuit Court to four years total for arson tied to two fires in Front Royal. Judge Elliott D. Marshall gave three years for the Livestock Market blaze and two years for the Agrico Chemical fire, one suspended. The Livestock Market fire caused damage estimated at 100000 to 150000 dollars. Sparks had initially pleaded innocent but withdrew that plea on June 6.
