London reports martial law in Dublin and southern Ireland after uprising begins in Dublin. British forces with machine guns move in from Belfast. Lord Wimborne's whereabouts unknown as fires burn and buildings are damaged in street fighting.
Winchester citizens are urged by Richmond health officials to adopt strict sanitary privy rules and proper filth disposal to fight typhoid fever and diarrheal diseases. The letter from ENMON G. Williams notes flies spread filth to food and water and proposes public lectures, literature, water guidance, and scavenger services as cooperative measures.
The Winchester Milling Corporation announces ready supply of bran and middling for trade. I W Dick superintendent notes the lot sale is this Saturday at 2 30 PM with rain or shine. Wingerter and Jenkins and J L Harris are involved in the sale details.
Mrs Hattie Carver Hillyard died at 4 o clock this morning at her parents home near Red Bud Clarke county in the thirty third year of age after a long siege of blood poison and rheumatism She leaves a husband Charles Hillyard a son Charles Vincent and a daughter Lillian with her parents and three brothers George B H Carver Winchester H H Carver Clarke county and (. J Carver The funeral will be held at the Carver home near Red Bud at 10 o clock Friday morning conducted by Reverends George W Stover and W O Talbert and burial will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.

A marriage license was issued at the Martinsburg Corporation Court clerk’s office to William H. Schill and Miss Rena C. Stum, both residents of Martinsburg. The groom works in a local woolen mill.
German forces conducted three attacks within 36 hours three by warships and aircraft. A British destroyer suffered boiler room damage in the North Sea while light cruisers sustained only slight injuries and 20 to 30 sailors were killed or wounded. Over Essex and Kent more than four German aircraft dropped bombs in an extensive raid.
The funeral for William W. Tanquary a well known bank clerk occurred this afternoon from his mother-in-law Mrs Mary A Lupton s Amherst street home. Rev Dr J H Lacy led the simple service with many floral tributes and prominent attendance. Burial followed at Mount Hebron Cemetery with pallbearers listed.
Mr and Mrs Edward Hicks spent the weekend with relatives near Capon Bridge. Mr Henry Snapp and daughter of Strasburg visited Mr and Mrs H S Hawkins. Miss Pearl Cooper spent Saturday night with relatives in Winchester. Misses Bertha Keckley and Edna Legg visited Miss Eva Hawkins.
The ceremony at the Church of the Sacred Heart united Miss Anna Marie Trier of Winchester with Lawrence L. Bell of Martinsburg West Virginia. Rev. John McVerry officiated and the couple left for a wedding trip on the Cumberland Valley Railroad. They plan to reside on National Avenue upon return.
The leap year dance hosted by Winchester young ladies at the Rouss Hall drew a large, partly out-of-town crowd. Organized by Mrs. Melvin Green, Miss Gertrude Barton, and Mrs. Walter Gore, the event featured many beautifully dressed dancers, a Rockville Md orchestra, and ample sandwiches and punch. Chaperoned by Winchester's married ladies, several supper parties followed the dancing into the night.
The Chamber of Commerce will convene at 8 o'clock tomorrow evening in City Hall. Members are urged to attend in full to consider and act on important chamber business.

Berlin reports the chancellor and Emperor discussed terms for diplomatic ties and reviewed a draft reply at army headquarters.
Washington reports the United States and Mexico ties depend on a border conference between Generals Scott Obregon and Funston. Obregon demands U S withdrawal to begin talks while promising no border raids recur and Villa’s fate conditions withdrawal. El Paso reports Obregon will press for immediate troop pullback to stabilize northern Mexico amid bread riots inland.
Martinsburg West Virginia reports that Edward Whitacre a noted drug clerk with many Frederick county ties nearly bled to death after a tooth extraction. A ruptured blood vessel caused a gallon daily loss, with medical aid from Doctors Gardner Minghim and Tonkin. He is now improved but bed bound for days.
A major merger was completed in Los Angeles uniting Triangle Film Corporation, Famous Players and Jesse L. Lasky Feature Play Company. The deal ends two weeks of speculation and marks a consolidating alliance in the film industry.
Dr Robert C Bryan will leave Richmond for New York to sail to France for hospital work three months. He joins Mrs Harry Payne Whitney's American Hospital at Jouilly with leading American surgeons. He sails on the Rochambeau to Bordeaux. Dr Stuart MacLean will run his Grace Hospital practice.

Paris April 26 The Sorbonne professor Victor Bascher writes in the Petit Parisien that France does appreciate American aid and brotherly kindness. He calls claims of ingratitude a monstrous calumny and says gratitude and charity bind the United States and France, with schools and hearts opened wider to Americans.
