The Frederick County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to raise taxes for the 1968-69 fiscal year. Real estate rate set at 2.50 per 100. personal property 3.30 per 100. increases of 0.50 and 0.30 respectively. No change in 30 percent assessment for tax purposes. About 30 residents attended the public hearing, some opposing the hikes. Chairman Thomas Rosenberger defended the need, citing a $200,000 shortfall without raises and a school budget up 300,000. FBI said no resemblance. he was released. Kennedy’s mother defended him and said he left Baltimore March 24 for a walking tour in Sonora.
In Vientiane Laos, North Vietnam sent a formal note to the United States via Ambassador William H. Sullivan on a visit to the North Vietnamese Embassy. Sullivan met with Charge d'Affaires Nguyen Chan for about 30 minutes at Chan's villa and refused comment on Hanoi's reply.
