Growers from Virginia Maryland West Virginia and Pennsylvania met in Martinsburg and voted to unite apple producers in a publicity campaign for the 1936 season. A permanent Appalachian Apples organization will run the program with a three from each state on the board. C Purcell McCue will be temporary president Carroll Miller secretary. A parade float for the Apple Blossom Festival will launch the effort with a decorative ice display and apples tossed to spectators. A prize will be offered for the best apple sticker design. Two Held On Liquor Charges In Pro Want Drive
Two men Pete Fauver of North Market and Elmer Ordorff of South Loudoun were arrested on liquor charges by local police. About two gallons of illegal liquor and paraphernalia used for cutting were seized. The arrests were made on warrants by Chief C W Hollis as part of a city wide drive to rid the area of illegal ardent spirits. Similar raids were planned and announced at city hall.

Veteran rider Revives Confederate Trail of the Pink Petals

White Way Gets Colonial Flair For Loudoun Street Festival
