Market For May Delivery Wheat Advances
The market for May delivery wheat rose this week despite rains easing drought pressures. Prices showed mixed movement from a 1.5 cent decline to 1.5 cents gain, with corn and oats also rising and provisions up 67 cents to $1.10. Traders shifted interest toward new crop months July and September while May contracts saw accounts settled by dealers. Gains credited to rains aiding Kansas Oklahoma and northern Texas, with the spring wheat belt also benefiting and seeding likely two weeks earlier than usual.
