The Fidus was seized today off Montauk Point with its commander and seven crewmen. Customs officials say liquor was found on board after pirates allegedly boarded the chaser twenty miles off Montauk Point with revolvers and seized cargo.
Virginia Pearson, the motion picture actress, was barred from speaking at the First Baptist Church in Nashua New Hampshire by church deacons. They directed the pastor to announce the action as for the good of the church. A large crowd gathered for her talk on raising the standard of the stage. She claimed the meeting was broken up by people who think stage folk are eternally damned.
