Clarke County youth Danny McIntire showed the grand champion Angus steer weighing 1,253 pounds at the Fourth Annual Winchester Junior Fat Livestock Show held at the Farmers Livestock Exchange. The steer, graded prime plus, sold for $35 per hundredweight to American Stores Co. Reserve champion Hereford was shown by Kenneth McDonald of Frederick County, weighing 1,000 pounds and selling for $32 per hundredweight. Shorthorn and Aberdeen Angus cattle were also exhibited and sold. the Shorthorn champion was shown by Stephen Lineweaver of Frederick County and bought by American Stores Co for $24.50 per hundredweight.
