Three Orndorffs Fined for Moonshining Near Mount Williams
Guy Preston and Clayton Orndorff, all of Mount Williams, were fined $100 each and sentenced to six months in jail by Magistrate A. J. Tavenner. They posted $1,000 bonds not to violate Virginia liquor laws after pleading guilty to operating a moonshining still without a license, the first such case since the state went wet last fall. The new law requires a $1,000 bond and presumes guilt for anyone found at a still.
