Fires Damage Apple Firms and Storage Building

A fire damaged an office at the Old Mill Packing Company in Berryville while a storage building belonging to Moore and Drosey near Berryville burned after being leveled by a blaze last night. Fire crews from Berryville, Boyce, Charles Town and nearby departments fought the flames and prevented further spread.

Forest Fires Blaze Through West Virginia Acres

Fire crews mopped up a West Virginia forest fire that consumed about 8 000 acres after gains in containment failed due to winds. A barn saw mill and two small buildings were destroyed while injuries were not reported. In Morgan County Sleepy Creek area another fire scorched about 3 000 acres before control was achieved.

Virginia Forest Fire Becomes State’s Worst In 22 Years

Virginia’s largest forest fire in 22 years was brought under control early today after raging since Saturday in King George and Westmoreland counties.
