Saigon AP reports weekly battle deaths fell to the lowest level since the winter spring push began Feb 23. Americans 204 and South Vietnamese 244 were killed. 2,890 Viet Cong and North Vietnamese died. Wounded rose sharply to 2,691. Da Nang saw 12 civilians and 2 military killed plus 40 wounded in a night of shelling. About 15 attacks hit bases and civilian centers as the offensive entered its 54th day. Diamond II base near Saigon saw heavy mortar fire with as many as 200 enemy killed nearby in a Monday night engagement.
