The Tri State Golf Association held its annual meeting at Winchester Golf Club with a luncheon and business session. Blazing Porch Alarm Prompts Fire Response

Fire devastates Troquois Hotel in Atlantic City
An unidentified man died and six men and two women were seriously injured when fire destroyed the Troquois Hotel on South Atlantic Avenue. Ninety eight people were in the building. Celia Boyland of Jersey City reportedly fractured her spine after leaping from the third floor into a firefigh ters net as flames reached the upper stories. Fire broke out shortly before 7 PM and spread quickly through the upper floors.

Two Women Sentenced to Jail for Fines

Liquor case sentences handed to two men and a third fined
William Weekley and Robert Scott both white and colored were fined 36 each and fined to thirty days in jail for illegal possession of liquor. They face further time if fines remain unpaid.
