Nimrod Oates of Capon Bridge West Virginia was pinned under a wrecked car after striking a cow on the road while assisting Charles Melnee with a flat near Winnehagtary Athy Wie Naved. Oates suffered severe scalp wounds and other injuries. his little son escaped unharmed. Dr C R Anderson treated him and he is reported improving and to recover.

Winchester residents visiting Stonewall Cemetery yesterday found the marble shaft at the Virginia lot chipped and disfigured. The monument, famed as a fine local sculpture, was smashed in several spots and its Virginia coat-of-arms devices, including the sword and helmet, were damaged likely by a chisel.
