Fighting with machine guns and grenades continued for a third day in Beirut as Palestinian guerrillas clash with the Phalangist private army. Casualties rise to about 80 killed and over 100 wounded. attacks hit a Gemayel pharmacy and a Phalangist leader’s home.
Cambodian government says Phnom Penh remains under its control despite Khmer Rouge radio reports of deep penetration and airport losses. In Saigon area fighting continues with Viet Cong bombing Bien Hoa. rebel rockets hit western Phnom Penh and a textile mill as refugees flood toward the capital.
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee moved to write a bill authorizing limited evacuation of South Vietnamese and Americans from Saigon after rejecting broad powers for transfer. Officials aim to reduce U.S. presence to a level that allows rapid evacuation, with 700 as a target number, while congressional and administration concerns linger over safety and timing.
A large crowd is expected for tonight's Frederick County Board of Supervisors work session on the 1975 76 budget. The meeting may move from the supervisors room to the county courthouse to accommodate supporters of the county school system as a $1.90 maximum tax rate is debated. Supervisors Sandy and Madigan promise cuts if the levy is lowered and urge the silent majority to attend.

Department of Corrections Director Jack F Davis scheduled a news conference today. Reports say Norman R Cox Jr resigned effective today for an unspecified post in Alabama. Cox complained of outside interference in work release program decisions. Studies on work release are being revised for board consideration Friday.
