Clinton Lewis a Frederick county native and former deputy clerk of the circuit court who for 18 years worked with the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Washington was fatally injured when struck by an automobile as he alighted from a street car. His body is to be buried in Winchester with services at Burnt Church and Stone Church.

Minister's Body Is Found Hanging In Floyd County
Solomon Hilton, 65, a long time Brethren Churches minister in Floyd county, was found hanging from a small tree near his home this morning. A bridle rein suspended the body and a small amount of poison was located nearby. Relatives said he had been in poor health for some time and family members had watched over him.

Washington Car Leaps Forty Feet Before Landing
John E. Mendes and Charles H. Manning, War department clerks, were seriously injured in an automobile crash near Culpeper. An ambulance from Walter Reed Hospital transported them to Washington. Witnesses said Mendes lost control after meeting another car, the vehicle struck the bank, then flew about forty feet before landing and overturning. They were unconscious and later dazed, receiving first aid in Culpeper from Dr. Chelf.
