The Winchester Common Council held a special session to consider the 1933 city budget. The session noted $250 for local airport, $800 for Chamber of Commerce, $2,250 for Handley Library, and $213 for special work. A second session is planned to continue budget discussions.
A charity dance will be held Monday night April 17 at Patton's Dance Hall on South Loudoun Street to raise funds for a municipal swimming pool at Rouss Spring Park. Easter Monday drawn crowd expected to dance to the Virginia Corn Crackers. 50 cent admission with hall donated by Mr Patton.
Two autos collided at the South Kent street and Millwood avenue intersection injuring three passengers. Patricia Ann Brown 16 months Bobby Brown 4 years and Ella Brown all in the Brown car suffered minor injuries. George Manuel colored in the other car hurt in the leg. All were treated at Memorial Hospital and later sent home. Officer B C Cline investigated the crash with no hearing held yet.

The Church of Christ will begin a short evangelistic revival series Tuesday evening April 18. The guest speaker will be Rev G Edwin Osborn of Hanover Avenue Church of Christ Richmond Va.
The Disciples of Christ pastor Dr Osborn will lead a ten day gospel gathering at the church. Mission groups are urged to attend and welcome outsiders with services starting at 8 pm each evening including a talk by Etta Nunn of Richmond the state secretary of missions.
The Friendship Fire Company invites all active and inactive members to its annual banquet at eight o clock in the company hall on East Cork Street. Suppers will be sent to those unable to attend. Speaker lineup includes Representative Jennings Randolph Garland R Quarles and W R Legge with James P Reardon as toast master. Music by Cyril Mee and the Friendship Mailer Quartette.

A fire of undetermined origin yesterday gutted the Everley residence in Middletown, about 12 miles south of here. A bucket brigade and chemical extinguishers saved the structure from total loss, but the interior and a prized piano were ruined. Mr. W. A. Everley, an employee of Middletown State Bank, praised his neighbors after the blaze, which struck the front room on the lower floor shortly after 4 a.m.
The naval board investigating the Akron airship disaster and the J-3 blimp fire will wrap up at Lakehurst by Saturday then move to Washington for continued hearings next week. Lieut Commander Ralph Pennover said the joint congressional inquiry will call witnesses in Washington Navy Yard starting Tuesday. The board aims to finish Akron testimony today and hear J-3 crash details tomorrow and Saturday. Weather charts were discussed as a factor on April 3, the day Akron departed.

Knights Templar and commanderies from Virginia Maryland and DC will hold an Easter sunrise service at Arlington National Cemetery overlooking Washington at 730 a m Easter Sunday. Fraters are invited in full uniform and should meet at the west gate by 700 a m to join Grand Commander Claude W Fletcher. A large gathering from DC and Maryland is expected for the annual observance.
Isaac Orndorff a farmer in southeastern Frederick County was found not guilty by a Frederick Circuit Court jury on a felonious shooting charge involving Sum Perry last December 12. He claimed self defense saying Perry seized a knife and prompted the gunfire. Perry was wounded in the head and face but recovered at a local hospital within days.
Akron Ohio April 13 The first test flight of the U S S Macon was postponed by Lt Cmdr Alger H Dressel after studying weather. The maiden flight is now set for 5 30 a m tomorrow depending on weather data at 11 p m tonight.
