Dirigible Los Angeles damaged as main cable breaks
April 13 Los Angeles. The dirigible Los Angeles suffered a main cable break while being moored to the steel tower. Hundreds of feet of cable wrapped the mast injuring Jerry Frankel a motion picture screamer. Ground crew of 300 released and the craft was brought to ground by two other cables. Lone guard foils million silk theft on river pier
New York April 13 a lone customs guard Martin Carroll stopped a $1,000,000 silk robbery by gun battle with river pirates looting silk destined for France. He spotted a 30 foot motor boat under the pier, fired, and the pirates fled after a brief exchange. He believes he hit at least one pirate. The silk shipment came from Japan via San Francisco.

Auto Collision At Red Banks Curve
Edinburg April 12 A collision occurred at the Red Banks curve involving a northbound Seager car from Buffalo New York and a southbound Oakland car from Strasburg driven by Cletus Helsley of Columbia Furnace. Mrs Seager suffered a badly bruised arm and shock. Helsley was arrested pending investigation. The Seagers stayed at the Edinburg In and Out Inn while repairs were made en route to Buffalo.
