Dr. Jacob A. Richard, 58, longtime Winchester physician and civic figure, died at Memorial Hospital after months of illness. Born near Opequon in Frederick County, he practiced in Winchester 28 years, helped organize the Commercial and Savings Bank, and was active in the Kiwanis Club and Grace Lutheran Church. He is survived by family and is remembered for his dedication to his Bible class and community service.
