Veteran Engineer And Union Soldier Dies In Brunswick
Orville D. Hathaway a Brunswick Maryland resident and Union veteran who fought in Civil War battles near Winchester died at his home aged eighty nine. He served in the Twelfth Regiment Company B Pennsylvania Cavalry under Captain Daniel B. Lewis and worked as an engineer on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad for decades. He leaves two daughters Cora D. Lee and Emma J. Brightman. Funeral services were held at the Episcopal Church in Brunswick with burial in Martinsburg West Virginia. Pallbearers listed.

After an official tour Major General William G. Everson praised the 116th Infantry of the Virginia National Guard for its armory and field training program.
