Post Field flies in a somber tribute with four planes dropping blood red flowers. Coroner's jury found Day in an attempt to assault Mrs Day and ruled the shooting justifiable.

In a Pennsylvania case, the Supreme Court held that county road and school district bonds are tax exempt from federal taxation under the 1916 state tax act. The suit by Mary Louise Greiner, executrix, tested the tax against the Pittsburgh collector of internal revenue.

Mrs Mamie Harrington Heidler wife of J T Heidler master mechanic Norfolk and Western dies suddenly of acute indigestion while motoring with friends in Tazewell county Virginia last Friday. Funeral held at Church of the Sacred Heart yesterday after Palm Sunday services in Bluefield. She was a daughter of the late John Harrington and granddaughter of Edward Purcell Sr with a large Virginia West Virginia kin network at the service.

The funeral of Mrs Annie Virginia Fries widow of David Fries occurred yesterday after a Saturday death at her home near Hayfield. The service was led by Rev Craig of Gore Baptist Church. Handley High School defeated Martinsburg High 9 to 6 in a Cumberland Valley League game at Martinsburg Blue Ridge diamond. Martinsburg led 6 to 3 after six innings, but Handley rallied in the seventh as pitcher Patton struck out eight and Winchester teammates Hackman Poole and Snyder sparkled. Martinsburg’s Michaels Nicodemus and Myers also starred. Handley, coming off a strong football season, shows revived baseball spirit for the current campaign.
In Gleivitz Upper Silesia a blast at the Huet ten Smelting Works killed twenty four people including twenty three French soldiers and one German foreman. Ten others were injured as excitement rises and martial law may be proclaimed. The explosion is said to have occurred in the family vault of Count Insigtel at the cemetery connected with the works. An unofficial report suggests a hidden mine was detonated during a search for concealed arms.
Captain Roald Amundsen, famed Arctic explorer, began a cross continental flight from Cleveland today in an all metal monoplane. The leg heads toward Seattle where he will depart June 1 for a drifting voyage in polar waters.

British troops fully armed appeared in the streets of Dublin late yesterday for the first time since the truce and Irish Free State agreement. The crowd roared slogans and interjected, while elsewhere in Ireland Duffey faced desecration on a public platform before being freed. In Belfast a Presbyterian church in the Falls Area was attacked for the second time in a week, pews smashed and church articles stolen.
