Scientist recalls kerosene freezing near North Pole
Dr Kaare Rodahl part of a three man Air Force weather team that landed on an ice island near the pole. He described 100 mile an hour winds and temperatures below 60 degrees below zero. Kerosene froze solid and whiskey froze as supplies arrived by C 47 and C 54 aircraft from Greenland.
