Parole officer hostage ordeal ends with suspect surrender
Ex convict Gerald Stump held parole officer Richard Stratton at gunpoint for about three hours after a roadblock incident. Stratton wrestled the rifle from Stump and escaped as police surrounded the scene. Stump, 24, was jailed for parole violation and sent for mental evaluation.
