About 1,700 children evacuated from Southeast Asia to the United States and other countries during Operation Baby Lift. Saigon official says future departures will be in smaller groups as the airlift reaches its scheduled quota and all evacuees were in the adoption process.

Iran executed Fuad Alghaitan and Taha Namiei, two Iraqi hijackers, by firing squad for taking an Iraqi Airways Boeing last month. The March 3 hijack ended with a landing in Iran and a gun battle that killed several passengers.
