A four hour blaze in Atlantic City destroyed the Grand Atlantic Hotel near the board walk. Fought by 200 firefighters and watched by 20 000 spectators, the fire forced 200 guests from the adjacent Royal Palms Hotel and threatened nearby frame buildings. Loss estimated at 250 000.
