Free to Hong Kong Yacht Crew Seized by Red China
Two yachts freed after seven weeks sail back to Hong Kong with 13 aboard including four Americans. Those still held include the Morasum and one other vessel. among the freed is Carol Zinky, daughter of a Colorado Springs man, and Joan Hopkins von Sydow and her daughters. The group was seized February 17 during a cruise to Macao and the Morasum carries electronic gear and radio equipment.

Plane crashes and explodes on Skyline Drive in Virginia

Truck Driver Rescued From Cliffside Wreck on I 70
A truck driver was trapped in the crushed cab perched 40 feet below Interstate 70 in Hancock Maryland. He remained inside over four hours before rescuers used torches to free him and transported him to War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs West Virginia. State police reported the rig plunged off the highway and down an embankment with the remaining distance to the bottom. A doctor gave sedatives while the driver awaited release.

Mid-February Job Total Tops 1968 Figure in Winchester
The Virginia Employment Commission March bulletin reports total employment in mid February 1969 at 21 840 in a civilian labor force of 22 110. Compared with February 1968 the year’s total rose by 1 560. Nonfarm employment fell 1 360 with manufacturing down 1 020 and food related work down 1 060.
