Fire blazes in Hable building endangering Winchester store district
Early morning fire swept the Hable building at Boscawen and Loudoun streets injuring three floors of the structure and threatening the downtown business section. Firefighters contained the blaze after a half hour with heavy water damage and estimated losses around five thousand dollars. The cause remained unknown though the third floor room was vacant. Fire department praised for rapid response and effective tactics.

Plumbers had left doors open with a small carton as protection and Wisecarver plunged through. One leg was severely cut and bruised. he earlier suffered a similar accident at the same spot.

A blaze at the Kimball Hotel in Roanoke Virginia early this morning left one person dead after jumping from the top floor of the three story building. Jessie McGhee farmer suffered multiple injuries from a jump. Several guests were unaccounted for and others burned or bruised. Cause undetermined. the hotel owner was B W Owen.
